If I order 15 or more units, what will I be charged for shipping?
Shipments of 15 or more units from your primary distribution center or from your secondary distribution center qualify for free freight (freight is now calculated per individual shipmentnot per order).
How do you define an individual shipment?
Items picked, packed, and shipped together count as an individual shipment.
What if my order contains fewer than 15 units?
Shipments of fewer than 15 units will be charged a flat $4.00 shipping fee.
What if I order 15 or more units but not all of them are in stock and have to be backordered?
The order will ship with all in stock units and you will be charged the flat $4.00 shipping fee (if your shipment did not total 15 units). When your backordered books are ready to ship, they can combine with another shipment. If that shipment contains 15 or more units, you will receive free freight.
Are there any other fees or charges?
Yes. All shipments leaving Ingram will incur a $1.00 fuel surcharge fee.
Can I apply a 15-unit shipment minimum to my account?
Yes. By setting a 15-unit shipment minimum on your account, all your regular shipments will qualify for free freight provided you only place combinable orders.
If you get an order confirmation for fewer than 15 units from either your primary distribution center or from your secondary distribution center, you can place an additional order to reach the 15-unit minimum (assuming both orders are combinable).
The 15-unit shipment minimum applies to both the primary distribution center and the secondary distribution center. It does not apply to alternate distribution center orders.
The 15-unit shipment minimum requirement takes precedence over the backorder clock, even for Street Smart titles. Nothing ships until the minimum is met.
At your request, Customer Care will release any pending shipment, even if it doesn't meet your shipment minimum requirement. You will, however, be required to pay the $4.00 shipping fee plus the $1.00 fuel surcharge.
Call Customer Care at (800) 937-8200 if you would like to begin using a 15-unit shipment minimum requirement on your account.
Does it matter how I place my orders?
No. This freight policy is applicable to any order whether it is placed by mail, phone, fax, e-mail, or electronically. However, lower purchase discounts still apply for phone orders.
What if I place an order outside my primary and secondary distribution centers?
Free freight eligibility only covers primary and secondary distribution center shipments. Shipments from alternate distribution centers will be charged published UPS rates (plus the fuel surcharge).
How does a multi-volume set count for reaching the free freight minimum?
A multi-volume set sold as a single ISBN counts as a single unit.
What if an Ingram inventory problem drops my order below 15 units? If an Ingram inventory problem drops a shipment to fewer than 15 units, the shipment will still qualify for free freight.
If I submit a hassle-free return, do I still have to pay the $1.00 fuel surcharge?
The $1.00 fuel surcharge will be credited back on hassle-free returns, but only if the whole shipment is returned.
What happens if one of my shipments contains multiple invoices?
When one shipment contains multiple invoices, any freight charge, as well as the $1.00 fuel surcharge, will be prorated across the invoices.
If I use a third-party carrier for my shipments that dont qualify for free freight, will I be charged the $1.00 fuel surcharge?
No.
Does the new freight policy affect international orders?
International orders placed through freight forwarders with addresses in the lower 48 states are free freight eligible. The policy is not applicable to Ingram Delivery Programs.
What if I request expedited shipping?
Free freight eligibility does not cover expedited shipping.
How does the new freight policy affect Direct to Home orders?
Regular Direct to Home orders are not eligible for free freight. Bulk Direct to Home orders from your primary distribution center and/or your secondary distribution center remain free freight eligible for shipments of 50 or more units.
